Typhoon, Rain, Floods: Name is SAOLA

Those three ingredients are common practice in the Philippines

This time it's Typhoon SAOLA

However the last week rain pored down in huge quantities, not with much wind. A breeze would help to drive out the clouds but they stayed on top of us.

Today while going around I have been struck by all the flooded area's. Families needed to be evacuated. Kids and the elderly where the first ones to be rescued with the few boats provided by the Marines and local government.

Taking pictures wasn't always easy as it was raining hard and the lens kept fogging up, mystifying my shots. But hé! What can I complain about. Just look at the pictures.

E.Rodriguez turned into a long river. Here in front of 7-Eleven,
not far from St. Lukes hospital facing Areneta avenue, QC.

19 the Street and Broadway extension. Here is a bridge which was totally submerged. People on the roofs. Almost Ondoy level, previous large typhoon, which reached just above the lower red line of the house at the left.

A. Luna street, which runs parallel to the San Juan river and crosses here Aurora Boulevard, QC..

SM St. Mesa is just a few hundred meters ahead.

A. Roman street, as well close to San Juan river.

Marines going into the side streets, now rivers, to pick up children,
see next picture below.

Creek at back of St. Lukes hospital.

 Same area as picture above.
